Plot sizes and rent charges (drop down item)
Plots can vary in size from very large – 500 square metres – to ‘mini’ – 80 square metres, or about the area occupied by 2 double decker buses.
Most of our plots are standard size, which can vary from 168 to 334 square metres (between 4 and 8 buses!)
If you want a very small plot and there isn’t one available, we can split suitable larger plots. Discuss this when you visit.
The Council sets the rent levels, not the Association, and we have to charge the rentals set for each size range.
Rents are due every October 1st. Anyone starting after 1st April gets a half-year discount, and there are also concessions for people taking on a very overgrown plot (claimed in year 2).
Pensioners get a discount, after they are 65.
