In between the storms and floods, the big clear-up at our second biggest site has begun, with a few plotholders braving the elements to get stuck in.
Thank you Tahra, Ish, Mohammed Aslam (and grandson) and Mohammed Rashid who came along on Friday, Saturday or Sunday last.
We’ve collected rubbish from some of the empty plots and moved it on to rubbish and recycle piles on Plot 9. We’ve also had a go at cutting back brambles on empty plots growing over rubbish which must have been there for many years. When the rubbish pile is big enough, a skip will be ordered, and can be used for rubbish on occupied plots too.
Communal compost bins can be put up – Plot 9 again. The Community Payback team cleared the ground for this, and they’ve also helped with the foundations of the new tearoom.
Spring is well on the way, more plotholders should be starting to turn up to start growing. Hope they can spend some of their time helping to make the site a better place to be.
